Teri Parker est une pianiste et compositrice freelance de Toronto. Elle dirige son propre groupe the Teri Parker Quartet and Trio et co-dirige le Parker Abbott Trio avec le pianiste Simeon Abbott. Ces deux groupes se produisent fréquemment dans des clubs de jazz à Toronto et présentent de la musique originale, avec l'aide du Toronto Arts Council à travers un programme de création musicale. Elle joue aussi régulièrement avec la chanteuse Aubrey Wilson, présentant des chansons jazz et populaires des années 50 à nos jours.
Au printemps 2014 Teri a eu l'opportunité d'étudier à New York City avec des pianistes et des compositeurs de renommée mondiale; Aaron Goldberg, Sophia Rosoff et Guillermo Klein. Ceci grâce à son obtention de la bourse pour le développement professionnel Chalmers accordée par le Ontario Arts Council. En Mars 2013 Teri a participé à la Banff Winter Creative Music Residency avec le Parker Abbott Trio, suivi d'une tournée se produisant dans de nombreuses salles à travers l'Alberta. Elle a étudié avec de nombreux éminents professeurs dont Fred Hersch dans l'Atelier de Musique Improvisée (2009) et David Braid pendant ses études à l'Université de Toronto, où elle a obtenu son diplôme en interprétation jazz en 2008.

Teri Parker is a freelance pianist and composer based in Toronto. She leads her own bands, the Teri Parker Quartet and Trio and co-leads the Parker Abbott Trio with pianist Simeon Abbott. Both of these groups play frequently in jazz clubs in Toronto and feature all original music, with the support from the Toronto Arts Council through the music creation program. She also plays regularly with vocalist Aubrey Wilson, featuring jazz and popular songs from the 1950’s to present day. In spring 2014 Teri had the opportunity to study in NYC with world renowned pianists and composers; Aaron Goldberg, Sophia Rosoff and Guillermo Klein. This was made possible when she received the Chalmers professional development grant from the Ontario Arts Council. In March 2013 Teri participated in the Banff Winter Creative Music Residency with the Parker Abbott Trio, followed by a tour performing at music venues throughout Alberta. She has studied with many notable teachers including Fred Hersch as part of the School of Improvised Music Workshop (2009) and David Braid during her time at the University of Toronto, where she graduated in jazz performance in 2008.
