Stanley Clarke s'est fait connaître dès les années 70 avec le groupe Return to Forever (dirigé par Chick Corea). Premier artiste de jazz-fusion à afficher complet dans ses tournées mondiales,
plus de quarante ans de carrière et autant d'albums, récompensés par 4 Grammy Awards, c'est une figure incontournable de la musique américaine qui s'est vue décerner le prestigieux NEA Jazz Master 2022.

C'est l'un des bassistes les plus doués au monde, l'un des plus grands musiciens de ces 50 dernières années ! Sa renommée débute dans les années 70 quand il fonde, avec Chick Corea, le premier groupe de jazz fusion : Return for Ever. Depuis, il s'est produit avec les plus grands noms du jazz : Jeff Beck, Stan Getz, Gil Evans, Art Blakey, Herbie Hancock, Bireli Lagrene, Michel Petrucciani ; mais aussi, avec The Police, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder... On lui doit une gamme complète de nouvelles techniques de jeu de basse, d'une expressivité sans précédent, faisant sortir l'instrument à quatre cordes de son traditionnel rôle rythmique et le propulsant sur le devant de la scène.

The 2022 NEA Jazz Master Stanley Clarke (one of the founding members and collaborators with Chick Corea (in Return to Forever) celebrates the music he and his friends made with the worldwide success of Romantic Warrior and the other albums the band created. This performance will pass that joy and messaging on to the next generations by presenting both music from that time as well as original songs written and arranged by Stanley Clarke. Clarke's virtuosic young band for this monumental night includes keyboardist Jaharis Stampley, guitarist Colin Cook, drummer Jeremiah Collier and sax player Ernesto Modeste.

Four time Grammy Award winner Stanley Clarke is thrilled to be back on the road with his exciting new band 4EVER. Already in 2022 the tour has played international and domestic venues with immense success.

The Stanley Clarke N4EVER tour's emphasizes Clarke's jazz fusion legacy and is centered on Clarke's Return to Forever album, Romantic Warrior. It was Return to Forever's most popular album. He will also be performing some of his other hits that the audience expects. For this tour Clarke has taken selections from the album and updated them with exciting new and sophisticated arrangements. The compositions are stellar and the arrangements are complicated. True to the evolution of jazz fusion, expect a powerful combination of jazz harmony and improvisation with rock, funk, R&B, hip-hop and electronic music influences.

Joining Clarke, 4EVER's young band members bring a dynamic youthful energy and freshness to the music. All extraordinarily consummate musicians and performers, the 4EVER band includes Jeremiah Collier on drums, Jahari Stampley on piano and keyboards, Colin Cook on guitar, Emilio Modeste on saxophone and, of course, Stanley Clarke on acoustic and electric bass. This band is a true concert band with a big jazz band sound. They excel in creating an electrifying performance, always pushing the boundaries of their instruments.
